Project Background and Rationale
Across Europe, migrant and refugee women continue to face multidimensional barriers affecting their social inclusion, wellbeing, education, and economic participation. Many experience social isolation, language barriers, unemployment, discrimination, trauma, and limited access to adult learning opportunities. Women arriving from conflict zones are particularly vulnerable to psychosocial stress, low self-confidence, and exclusion from community life.
Despite increasing migration flows in Europe, integration systems often focus primarily on language acquisition and employment pathways, while overlooking emotional wellbeing, cultural expression, creativity, and community participation. Traditional integration approaches frequently fail to create safe, inclusive, and empowering environments where migrant women can rebuild confidence and establish meaningful social connections.
Art-based learning and creative expression have proven highly effective in supporting psychosocial recovery, intercultural dialogue, emotional resilience, and community engagement. Creative activities such as crafts, storytelling, embroidery, visual arts, music, and cultural production enable migrant women to express their identities, preserve cultural heritage, and actively participate in society regardless of language level.
At the same time, digital exclusion remains a major issue. Many migrant women have limited access to digital learning environments and online support systems. Accessible digital platforms and multilingual learning materials are essential to ensure sustainable and long-term inclusion.
This project builds a holistic integration model combining:
- psychosocial support,
- creative and cultural learning,
- digital inclusion,
- entrepreneurship support,
- intercultural dialogue,
- and community participation.
The project directly contributes to:

- wellbeing and mental health,

The project concept is strongly inspired by the holistic migrant women integration framework outlined in the uploaded concept document.
Main Aim
To strengthen the social integration, psychosocial wellbeing, digital participation, and creative empowerment of migrant women through art-based adult education approaches and inclusive community learning environments.
Specific Objectives
O1 – Strengthening Psychosocial Wellbeing
To improve the emotional resilience, self-confidence, and social participation of migrant women through psychosocial support and art-based therapeutic learning activities.
O2 – Promoting Social Integration Through Art
To use arts, crafts, storytelling, and cultural activities as tools for intercultural dialogue and community engagement.
O3 – Enhancing Digital and Educational Inclusion
To develop accessible multilingual digital learning tools and online educational resources supporting inclusion and lifelong learning.
O4 – Supporting Employability and Creative Entrepreneurship
To improve migrant women’s entrepreneurial and creative production skills through practical workshops and community-based learning.
O5 – Building Adult Education Capacity
To strengthen the competencies of adult educators and NGOs in inclusive, trauma-sensitive, and art-based educational methodologies.
